Description & Materials An introductory course in poetry writing, this course is designed to provide students with the skills necessary to appreciate and begin writing poetry. The course exposes students to the basic structural and thematic elements of contemporary poetry, such as theme, diction, tone, sound, imagery, figures of speech, rhythm and form. Success in the course is based on student progress and revisions of original work, as well as talent for writing.

Prerequisite: ENC 1101 or test score equivalency or test equivalency
