An introduction to philosophy through a time-line study of various central questions of philosophy as exemplified in some work by Plato (a classical view of the nature of the ideal state and of the most excellent type of human being, as well why we should be just); Rene Descartes (a rationalist view of the existence of God, and the criteria of truth and knowledge); John Dewey (American pragmatist/empiricist philosophy as a modern redirection of thought toward the cure of social ills); Paul Tillich (an existentialist/ theological view of self, self-actualization, and human relations with each other and with the Ground of our Being).

There are 4 ways by which to register for a correspondence course:
Register Online NowFor students intending to apply for admission to UF: Please be advised that Correspondence/Flexible Learning courses cannot be used for credit toward admission. Further, courses taken through our program will remain permanently on the student's transcript and may negatively impact future acceptance to UF.
