Description & Materials A general introduction to art history, this course helps students appreciate the purposes and functions of visual arts within our world, throughout time, and within cultures and societies. The course serves to introduce students to the compositional elements within art works in order to interpret meaning and expression, and helps students develop and expand the senses needed to experience and appreciate visual arts, and the skills that assist in describing, synthesizing, analyzing and evaluating art forms.
