Description & Materials This course introduces students to some of the major writers, issues, and forms found in the history of American literature. Works covered include Rita Mae Brown's Rubyfruit Jungle; Douglas Coupland's Generation X; Jamaica Kincaid's Lucy; Toni Morrison's The Bluest Eye; Alix Kates Shulman's Memoirs of an Ex-Prom Queen; and Cristina Garcia's Dreaming in Cuban.
