Description & Materials This is an introductory-level course in philosophy suitable for students with no prior exposure to the subject. The aim of the course is to help students reason more clearly and effecively about difficult moral problems such as abortion, euthanasia, human embryonic stem cell research, capital punishment, and drug legalization. Students are expected to write twelve 2-3 page essays. There are no exams.

This course satisfies the general education requirement for humanities and fulfills the Gordon Rule (6000) for students enrolled at a public university in the state of Florida.
