| Description & Materials |
This course examines the function of law enforcement in the United States, emphasizing both the academic aspects of law enforcement as well as the practical side of law enforcement. Four aspects of law enforcement are emphasized: the history of law enforcement, that is, how law enforcement developed into a formal institution; candidate selection and officer training; decision procedures; and regulation of police behavior.
