Graduating this fall 09 semester?

If you intend to graduate by the end of the Fall 2009 semester, it is strongly recommended that you complete all course requirements, including all assignments and the final exam, 30 days before your graduation date.  This is necessary to allow sufficient time for grading by the instructor and posting of your final grade.  Please let us know if you intend to graduate in December 2009 so we are aware of your special situation.

Two UF professors' books on Oprah's Reading List

If you glanced at Oprah's "25 Books You Can't Put Down" Reading List then you might have noticed  Mary Robison's "One D.O.A., One on the Way" and Jill Ciment's "Heroic Measures." Both authors are faculty members in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Graduate Creative Writing Program.

Extension Policy & Fee

Once registered, you have 16 weeks to complete the course; an additional 16-week extension is automatically granted resulting in 32 weeks to complete the course.  If the course is not completed in 32 weeks, an "E" grade is posted on your transcript.

If you have made significant academic progress (i.e., completion of 50% or more of the course with passing grades) you may request a final extension from the instructor.  If granted, you must then contact our office to pay the $100 extension fee to receive the FINAL 16-week extension for a total of 48 weeks.

Please note that your course grade will be posted on the 48-week expiration date.  Any student experiencing extenuating circumstances that hinder course completion should contact our office for further consideration.
College students are flocking to sustainability degrees, careers

nabp headerThere is good news for students looking to pursue a career in sustainability.  According to an article in USA Today, the availability of "green" degree programs is increasing as a result of the growing interest in sustainability and the environment.  From master's degrees in environmental studies to architecture degrees that focus on the production of energy-efficient buildings, colleges are making an effort to provide appropriate educational programs to meet the demand.
